A Healthy Lea Derbyshire Celebrant Wedding Full of Colour, Dogs and a Splash of Running
Gosh this wedding was epic! With an AMAZING wedding team helping Amy and Jamie bring their vision alive, reason to hear more about their day and shenanigans. Full wedding team line up at the bottom of this blog! But for now, here’s their wedding film and a bit more about their day…
Getting Ready
Heathy Lea has on site accommodation so Amy and Jamie got ready there with their dog, Sunny joining in too! It was a super relaxed affair, whilst everyone got ready. Amy wore a beautiful gown by Little London Brides with her bouquet by Flowers by Amy. We had the lovely Jessica Sharpe overseeing and running the day, too.
The Ceremony
The lovely celebrant Meg Senior conducted this gorgeous humanist wedding. It was so unique to Amy and Jamie, so personal and filled with gorgeous personal vows, Sunny as their ring bearer and two lovely readings. Amy was played in by Emily White who we’ve worked with before and is fabulous. She played Dreams by The Cranberries as Amy walked down the aisle. Village Green Events had beautifully styled the space with reds, pinks and silvers, streamers and disco balls - what more do you need??
Confetti and Group Photos
Go big or go home with confetti. Amy and Jamie did just that! Sunny also walk down the line and nailed it. We swiftly went into group photos which we did on the Chatsworth grounds, whilst everyone had drinks, ice cream and chats in the Heathy Lea gardens.
Couples Shoot and a Mini Race
With Heathy Lea being on the edge of the Chatsworth Estate, there’s a wealth of options for couples pics. We used the open space as much as possible. The first photo shoot we did with Sunny in tow, capturing some family portraits together.
After dinner, we did some without which was a mix of romantic meets fun and silly (yes you can have both). We got some absolutely greta moments on the swing (with both of them trying not to fall off). We also did a little race seeing as Amy is a seasoned runner, and both a bit competitive it turns out. We love it when couples lean into our mad ideas because it makes for such silly fun photos. This is why we say we’re Romantic AND fun. You can definitely have both and Amy and Jamie prove our point perfectly. Their love for each other and pure friendship just shined in the best way possible.
Dinner and Speeches
The speeches absolutely delivered for this wedding! Amy and Jamie’s best man did one of the funniest speeches we’ve seen and got some big laughs out of everyone. Exactly what I’m hunting for when photographing speeches! Amy also did a speech, and as we always say; hearing women’s voices at weddings is really important. Some traditions are worth breaking. They chose to have a gorgeous trestle table set up which makes for lovely long shots of everyone enjoying food and drink.
Dancing and more Confetti
For their first dance, they chose the song ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’ and also included confetti canons. We will always love confetti canons. It gives dancing in Ibiza at a rave and we love it. Everyone enjoyed a proper dance to their brass band Little big band. They’d also opted for a portrait artist for their wedding so we documented their portrait being done.
This was also the first wedding where we recreated the online trend of bouquets around the bride but instead of using Amy, we used Sunny and she was a very good girl in the process.
I’m sure there’s loads of good details we’ve missed here but this was an all round lovely wedding to be a part of. We had the best team to work with as well, and just had such fun. It was such a colourful, friendly, relaxed and joyful day. You can see their full wedding gallery below.
